Hon. Omar Said, the CECM for water and environment, conducted a surprise visit to Rabai and Kaloleni subcounties to assess the effectiveness of the water rationing program and inspect reported malfunctions in boreholes in the area. The boreholes visited in Rabai included kwakijala and kasidi. He also evaluated the water rationing program in Chanagande in Kaloleni and parts of Rabai.
During the visit, the CECM expressed concern about the high rate of vandalism of water facilities in Kilifi County. He emphasized the importance of the community reporting any cases of vandalism to the department in order to achieve Governor Gideon Mung’aro’s goal of providing clean and safe water to the residents of Kilifi.
Efforts will be made to repair the malfunctioning boreholes to ensure continued access to water for the people of Kilifi.
