Chief. Zamzam Ali (C.O)

Ms. Zamzam Ali is the Chief Officer of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry for Kilifi County, where she is instrumental in steering the county’s environmental and forestry initiatives. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Moi University and a Master’s degree in Climate Change and Sustainable Development from the University of Nairobi, providing her with a strong foundation in both environmental management and climate adaptation. Ms. Ali is committed to implementing effective climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, promoting sustainable forestry practices, and enhancing community involvement in environmental conservation.

Under her leadership, significant projects have been undertaken, including large-scale reforestation programs designed to restore degraded lands and enhance forest cover across the county. She has also spearheaded climate change adaptation projects aimed at helping communities adjust to climate impacts and developed waste management initiatives to tackle plastic pollution and promote recycling. Ms. Ali’s strategic vision and dedication have been pivotal in advancing Kilifi’s environmental health and community resilience, positioning her as a key player in the county’s journey toward sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
