The Chief Officer of Environment, Climate, and Forestry, Ms. Zamzam Ali, hosted a fruitful discussion with Mr. Gideon Kinyoda of The Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) and Ms. Gertrude Tausi Leshemta, the County Director of the Kenya Meteorological Department (MET). FEWSNET agreed to provide technical support for the development and implementation of the climate information services plan, focusing on key thematic areas such as climate data, climate products, capacity building, and research.
Additionally, FEWSNET promised to provide a river gauge and more 3D printers for the Galana-Sabaki river and Hinterlands, respectively. Accompanying the Chief Officer was Mr. Kanundu Ngumbao, the director in charge of climate change and forestry.
