In a recent one-week workshop organized by the Council of Governors in Naivasha, the Chief Officer for Climate Change in Kilifi County, Ms. Zamzam Ali, actively participated. It is imperative for us, as leaders in climate change, to lead the way in guiding our Ward Committees towards impactful and sustainable programs. Collaboration with the Chief Officer for Finance and Economic Planning is crucial to ensure that our initiatives are well-funded and effectively implemented.
During the workshop on climate financing, Environment and Climate Change Principal Secretary Eng Festus K Ng’eno emphasized the importance of counties taking the lead in projects that promote emissions reduction. As accounting officers, we have the opportunity to utilize World Bank Investments grants to execute projects that will benefit our local communities, particularly those most vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
Under Governor Gideon Maitha Mung’aro administration, we invite all sectors to align with our efforts to address climate change. Let us come together to create a greener and more sustainable future for Kilifi County. The choices we make today will have a lasting impact on the environment and the well-being of our communities. Together, we can actively contribute to the fight against climate change and bring about meaningful change.
