Malindi Mtangani Prison

Company
The Chief Officer for Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry Ms Zamzam Ali earlier today she visited Malindi Mtangani Prison to explore innovative ways of growing seedlings and managing nurseries. 🌳The visit was truly inspiring, witnessing the prison farm and nursery’s 🌱 vast collection of assorted seedlings and the remarkable discipline displayed by both inmates and farm staff.
The Grening Kenya project, implemented within the prison system, serves as a rehabilitation program and training tool for prisoners. A significant aspect of the project involves the production of grafted seedlings of fruit trees, carefully designed to suit Kenya’s ecological and environmental patterns.
In line with our strategic objectives of conserving, restoring, and growing trees to protect our environment and support the #JazaMiti #15B Trees Presidential initiative, we are excited and look forward to collaborate closely with Kilifi Prisons. This collaboration aims to involve inmates or honorably discharged offenders under the supervision of the Kenya Prison Service.
We will work towards a common goal of environmental preservation. By joining forces, we can make a meaningful impact in conserving our natural resources , support our prisons livelihood and fostering a greener, more sustainable future for all.
