Today marked a significant step towards the conservation of our environment. As we commemorate World Wetlands Day, we have engaged in a massive mangrove planting exercise at Kidundu Mtongani, where we’ve planted a total of 23,211 mangroves. Through a joint effort of the GRO Foundation, Kenya Forest,VSO Kenya,Kenya Prisons,Kenya Red Cross, Asal Community, Kilifi Climate Change, Governance Platform Mtongani Kidundu,Pwani University,NEMA,Kilifi County Department of Environment, and the community at large, we made the day a successful one.
Notably present at the event were the chief officer of the Kilifi County Department of Environment, Zamzam Ali; Director of Environment, Jimmy Yaa; and Director of Climate Change, Kanundu Ngumbao, Kelly Banda (GRO), among other notables.
