Director Jimmy Yaa represented the Kilifi Dept of Water, Environment, Climate Change & Solid Waste Mgmt at the meeting, where they collaborated with the COSME Project team from Kenya, Tanzania, and Canada, as well as women’s rights and youth-led organizations. The aim of the meeting was to plan for the annual work of the Conservation and Sustainable Management of Coastal and Marine Ecosystems (COSME) Project. The project will focus on training conservation groups, establishing Community Forest Associations, and providing conservation training to schools in key ecosystems such as Kilifi Creek, Takaungu Creek, Mtwapa Creek, Kaya Chonyi, Kaya Jibana, and Mwangea. The project also aims to enhance women’s participation in Nature-Based Solutions and aligns with the goals of the Kilifi County Integrated Development Plan.
