We are grateful to our esteemed partners, WWF-Kenya and Pakpro KENYA for partnering with the Department of Kilifi Department of Water, Environment, Climate Change & Forestry in hosting a three-day workshop at Kilifi Silver Palms Hotel and Spa. The workshop focused on building capacity and deepening the understanding of Environment department staff and municipalities staff in solid waste management, aligned with the Sustainable Waste Management Act 2022.
The workshop signifies our commitment to a greener, more sustainable future as we delve into the pivotal role of sustainable waste management in driving the development of our county.
Our county has implemented a comprehensive strategy for solid waste management, aiming to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle by prioritizing Circular Economy Capacity, we will combat global waste management crisis that now stands at 2.3 billion tonnes (UNEP report 2024).
